Questlock — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23rd August 2026

Questlock ("the extension") is a browser productivity tool that gamifies focused study sessions. This page explains what data the extension handles and, just as importantly, what it does not do.

What Questlock stores

All data Questlock uses is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This includes:

None of this data ever leaves your device. Questlock has no backend server, does not use analytics, and does not sync data to any account or cloud service.

What Questlock reads while it runs

While a focus quest is active, Questlock checks the hostname of the page you're currently viewing against the blocklist you configured yourself, so it can redirect you away from a site you asked it to block. This check happens entirely on your device. Questlock does not read page content, does not log your browsing history, and does not transmit any URL or browsing data anywhere.

Permissions explained

Third parties

Questlock does not share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties, because it does not transmit data anywhere at all. There is no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or external API call in this extension.

Data deletion

You can erase all locally stored data at any time from the extension's Settings page ("Reset Progress"), or by removing the extension from Chrome, which deletes its local storage automatically.
